Inquiry action-respecting/cleaning our local environment

Today as Matau team we completed an 'action' as part of our learning. We have been learning about the rocky shore and habitats. Our main focus has been 'all living things rely on each other to survive'. Our word of the term has been 'respect'. We thought it would be a great action to respect/clean up our local environment. We went around the school block in both directions and then sorted the rubbish into groups. It was amazing to see the amount of rubbish collected from streets that we originally thought were reasonably clean.
